A man was saved by his socks. For Christmas last year, his children had given him 7 pairs of socks, each pair having the day of the week printed on them. Of course, after a few months he stopped trying to put on the appropriate pair to match the day of the week. He happened to be in a serious car accident and was taken to hospital. Lying on a stretcher in A&E he was in danger of fading away due to the department being too busy to attend to him. However,a nurse noticed his socks and went screaming for a doctor, saying "This man has been here since Thursday."
