Glen Isla Golf Course

The Glen Isla Golf Club lies near Alyth - in fact be careful that you don't try to get on the Alyth Golf Course when you've booked the Glen Isla.
Glen Isla is a very forgiving course with wide fairways leaving generous room for people with a fade. The 1st is a dogleg right par 4 which shouldn't give you too many problems off the yellow tees. For a real dogleg, however, the 13th takes some beating; it's a full 90 degree bend over the green-keeper's stores. If you're bold, you can fire blind at the hole but that puts players on the 14th tee at risk. The par 3 3rd is a long haul for par 3 while the par 3 16th offers you a chance of a birdie if you're good with a short iron.
The Club House has one of the best laid out panoramic windows offering views over the 1st tee, 9th green, 10th tee and 18th green.
If there was one disappointment it was that the food was below the standard of most Scottish golf club or course restaurants. It wasn't bad, far from it, but it wasn't as good as elsewhere.
